I had previously written an article on getting the old Facebook layout back for those of you who didn’t like the new Facebook layout. But I know most of us like the new Facebook. Ain’t I right? Well, but looking at the same default layout you might get bored one day or the other. So, how about adding some new colors to it? We can do so by installing a backend app- Yontoo Layers. If you haven’t heard of Yontoo then it’s a browser add-on that creates virtual layers on your browser window. It enables users to add content over their Facebook page that appears to have been added directly to the page. This is something similar to Greasemonkey which is used in Firefox. At present Yontoo Layers are supported by only two browsers- Internet Explorer and Firefox.
If you have been using Facebook for at least two to three months then you might have noticed the change in the layout that took place recently. I liked the new design, it’s much better than the previous one and has less clutter. Another reason that makes me say it’s better than the previous one is the quick loading time of profiles. But some of my friends just hate it. They say it’s a bit complicated and they find it difficult to use.
The wait has finally come to an end. I can now finally stop using the beta version which took around 15-20 seconds to even start. Yahoo messenger 9.0 is available for both XP as well as Vista. So what’s new in the final version 9.0? Yahoo! Messenger Pingbox, a new application has been introduced. This is great if you have a blog or a website. All you need to do is just embed it in your site, if anyone wants to contact you they can do so by chatting from that window. You’ll get the message in your IM. Great isn’t it?
To make things colorful there are 12 skins (3 new ones- Silver, Ruby Red, Mystic Black included in final version) which can be switched between. Switching between skins is pretty easy, if you have tried the beta version you’ll know about it. Well, if you don’t then you just need to click on the red button on the right hand top of your screen and choose your favorite skin.
It’s been a long time since I have blogged about free software licenses. I guess its perfect time to post a good promotion. Today, I came across an awesome promotion through which you can get 1 year PC Tools Internet Security 2009 license key. I’m pretty sure most of you have already heard of PC tools. Well, if you haven’t then you surely missing a great software in your favorite list.
I’m pretty sure most of you’ll liked the Google Chrome look, I must say it’s visually appealing! Well, if you’re a Firefox user who likes the Chrome look then here’s something for you, it’s a coat of Chrome for Firefox, a bright and soft blue theme.
If you use Firefox you might have noticed the waiting time involved while installing a new firefox addon. Well, it’s just a few seconds so shouldn’t be a problem. But if you don’t lke to wait then here’s a short and easy tip for removing the waiting time:
Bloggers and designers usually take screenshots of web pages; they do it by either using a software or an addon. Well, if you’re using Firefox then you can install the addon- Fireshot to capture screenshots of web pages. But let’s look into some other way which allows you to take screenshots without installing any program or addon.
If you’re using Vista you might have come across UAC (User Access Control). It’s a security feature which protects your computer from various threats like malicious programs, privacy breakers, etc. Whenever you open a new program or start an installation or anything for that matter, it opens up a box in which you have to give your permission to continue. Well, this is pretty good as it protects your computer but at the same time it’s a bit annoying as it keeps on popping every now and then and it doesn’t remember users choice, so you have to keep clicking continue even on the application that you launch frequently. Some people because of these cons simply disable UAC.
