Quake Playable on Google Android!

PC Mag reports that Qualcomm- a sample Google Android handset played an OpenGL version of Quake in 3D at this year’s CTIA. The phone was based on a 400+ Mhz MSM7201 chip set with the latest build of Android that was connected to AT&T’s UMTS network, and had new icons and applications, including significant changes to its internet browser. The report also stated that the game was running smooth with good frame rates.

PS3 Firmware 2.20 with BD-Live Functionality to Hit Soon

PS3 Firmware 2.20 will be out by the end of this month. This version will add the much touted BD-Live features to your PS3. You’ll be able to download video content, ringtones, and interactive movie based games. It will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP.

Everyone knows BluRay for its ability to play high-def movies and its huge storage space. The huge storage space of 50GB ensures that game developers won’t be limited by the size of the media they’re forced to use. But it wasn’t the case with Metal Gear Solid 4. Metal Gear Solid 4 will be the first game to fill up the whole 50GB space. In fact the developers are trying hard to cut down the game to bring it down to 50GB.

To do this you need to have a USB headset and an EyeToy camera. Plug in both via USB then go to your Friends menu. Now choose any one of your friends you’ve signed up earlier and press Triangle. Select Start New Chat and type a message. Now they’ll see your message and will see an option to accept your video chat. If your friend too has a camera and a headset then two windows will open, one will show yourself and the other will show your friend. You can invite a maximum of 6 friends by pressing Triangle.

Here’s a teaser trailer of the upcoming action game- Faith and a .45 developed by Deadline Games for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. Deadline claims that the game will emphasize on cinematic aspects surrounding the characters. Deadline calls the game a “gritty, emotional shooter”. The teaser trailer looks really awesome, let’s expect something big from the game. I hope that the game has a strong storyline to blend with the action.
