Run Programs using Alias/ short names

AddToRun is a program which allows you to set an alias or a short word for any .exe file, it may be a program, game, etc. You can use the short word or alias created in the Run command box to run the program. That’s pretty straight forward and simple isn’t it? The program is just 250 KB in size and is pretty light on resources. Its works perfectly on Windows XP, Vista and even on Windows 7.

Using AddToRun:

Download AddToRun from the link at the bottom of the post and unzip the contents.

Launch the program click on addtorun.exe

Now choose a program you want to run using alias, I chose Winamp. In the Alias field enter any word you like and click on ‘Add’.

Once done, remember the word and close the program.

Now start the Run command box by pressing the ‘Windows Key + R’

In the box enter the word you had set earlier and hit OK.

Voila! the program should start now.

Download AddToRun (link 2)
