Turn Off Windows System Sounds

There might have been instances when you were watching a movie or playing a game or maybe listening to music and you suddenly hear a big ‘ding’ or a ‘dong’ sound. And you discover that the sound is a Windows system sound. I know how annoying it is because it has happened to me several times. Well, if you’re using Vista then the sound are sweet, they aren’t as irritating as the system sounds that you hear in Windows XP.

If you tried to turn them off using the system volume button then you might have noticed that you didn’t hear anything from your speakers. Well, you can adjust the Windows sound settings from the Control Panel, but there’s an app known as SoundOff allows you to turn off Windows system sounds with ease. It sits in your system tray and lets you toggle your audio settings with just a click or two. It’s certainly a timesaver app!
