Yep, the same thing happened to me. Had Live and it was running fine for months, and then went out for a coffee with friends…came back and turned on the comp…went to sign in and was told I had to update and then that the update was incompatable with x64. Won’t let me sign in, system restore won’t work…too bad class action law suits fail when MS is the jerk (sorry, but REALLY angry with the underhanded tricks I keep seeing at MS and any associated -emphasis on the first 3 letters- companies). The good news is that Yahoo Messenger can send messages to your friends on Live and you can keep them…bad news is that Yahoo isn’t as good (in my opinion), If anyone from MS is watching, after getting past my extended middle finger, why don’t you send me back some of my money for x64 or start doing your job and support it? I’m really frustrated with this and refuse to buy anything else from MS. LOL I guess my friends are gonna have to put up with me being the Anti-MS…bad news for MS is that many of them are agreeing with me…but, then I’m certain they couldn’t care less.

Hi folks!

I’m still having the same problem. The file mentioned above is exactly the same as the official site. I have a Windows 2003 Server, and the message I’m getting is: “Sorry, you cannot install the programs you’ve chosen on this operation system.”

What am I suppose to do?

I have done everything stated above installed the latest version, and .msi installer and still nothing, am i missing something here??? i just tried to download msn and same error message came up, what i dont get is it was working fine 3 hours ago then i got the message to update to latest versioon and now its all fucked up, this totally sucks!

Just extract the file and install, works under windows xp x64
