PS3 Firmware 2.20 with BD-Live Functionality to Hit Soon

PS3 Firmware 2.20 will be out by the end of this month. This version will add the much touted BD-Live features to your PS3. You’ll be able to download video content, ringtones, and interactive movie based games. It will also allow you to copy photos and music playlists over USB from your PS3 to your PSP.

Other features include ‘resume play’ which means that if you start a Blu-Ray or a DVD movie and eject it for using some other disc, then later when you insert the disc you can play it from where it had stopped. The ‘Audio Output Feature’ allows you to use your PSP as a remote for music played on the PS3. PS3 system’s Internet browser will be enhanced, with the ability to stream a video file directly linked from a page. The overall surfing speed will also be improved. You’ll also be able to play DivX and WMV files that are larger than 2GB. “Mosquito Noise Reduction” will be added as an AV setting in the control panel of the DVD/BD player for improved movie playback.
