Ever wanted to have a single application for social networking, IM and email? Then here’s an awesome multi-network IM client- Digsby which enables you to do so. With Digsby you can connect to major IM networks like Yahoo, AIM, ICQ, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk and Jabber. You can also integrate your Facebook, MySpace and email accounts. Great isn’t it?

As soon as I got connected I just went to preferences and added my Yahoo! Messenger, Google talk accounts. I also added my Google, yahoo mail accounts and Facebook account. I was able to access my mail accounts, log into my facebook account but unfortunately I got authentication errors when trying to connect to Yahoo! Messenger. I don’t really know the reason, but the funny part is that I was able to access my Yahoo Mail without any problems.

Chatting is really awesome in Digsby, the conversation windows are tabbed which make chatting easier especially when you are chatting with many people. The avatars also look great. You can also send files to your friends while chatting. You can change the appearance of Digsby by switching between different skins and themes. There are two skins available by default- Quick silver and Darkness. There are 11 themes for changing the look of your conversation box. You can also create your own. Unfortunately, there’s no voice and webcam support.

Email integration is really great. You can log into Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, AOL/AIM Mail, GMail, IMAP and POP3 without any problems. Each mail account will be shown as an icon in the task bar. The total number of mails in your inbox will be displayed over the icons. Whenever there is a new mail you’ll be notified. You can click on the mail icon and check out your inbox mails.
You can also integrate Facebook and MySpace accounts into it. They’ll be shown as an icon in your task bar. You can check out your status, alerts and news feeds by clicking the icon. There’s a Digsby widget for your Facebook profile.

Currently only Facebook and MySpace is supported, other network support will be coming soon.
Wow! This is something great! I’m gonna check it out…
Looks neat ! but I’ll use it only if it supports all the Yahoo! Emoticons. [with same codes]
