A new version of Windows Genuine Advantage will be rolled out in the first “service pack” for Windows Vista which will be out in Q1 2008.
In this WGA system, the WGA software will scan the pc if there are any signs of pirated version of vista. Users found to have a pirated copy of Vista will notice that their desktop wallpaper will turn into black. Each time they log in, they will be prompted to buy legitimate software, and every hour, a reminder bubble will appear on the screen.
Well this wasn’t the case in previous WGA system; if the tool would find a pirated version of Vista then it would simply disable the glassy effect and suspend few other features.
Those who are interested in buying original copies of Vista then this is the right time as an original copy of Vista Home Premium is available for just $119 which is half the regular price.
