How To Get Windows Xp SP3 Via Windows Update

Windows Xp SP3 is the final service pack for Windows Xp. This service pack will include some bug fixes and will have some of the features borrowed from Vista. According to a news article by dBtechno service pack 3 will offer a ten percent performance enhancement. In case you are using Xp and want to download the SP3 then there is a hack which will allow you to download the Xp SP3 RC1 directly from Microsoft.

Follow the following steps in order to download the SP3 RC1 from Microsoft:

1. First Download the WindowsXPSP3Hack.cmd, then login in as administrator and double click the file to execute it.
2. Wait for a conformation message
3. Now check for new updates in the windows update. You will find Service Pack 3 listed in the updates.
4. Download and install it.

    Well, it might just be me, but everything up to step 3 worked great. I can get onto the Auto Update website and it finds the SP3, but when it goes to download/install it, it fails before it can even download it. Any help?

    Or, you can just wait another month or so until it gets formally released and you won’t have to hack WUD to get it… It’s not like it’s a revolutionary change, just some regular patches and tweaks.
