Vijay Mallya is currently planning to expand Kingfisher, by targetting low cost airlines. First it was Air Deccan and now its SpiceJet. Mallya is currently interested in acquiring a stake even in Delhi-based budget carrier SpiceJet.

SpiceJet is India’s 2nd largest low-cost airline with a market share of just 9%. SpiceJet currently has 11 Boeing 737-800 aircrafts. Mallya’s main motive in acquiring Deccan Aviation was to make sure that the industry becomes more profitable and that everybody works together to achieve it.
Its not certain about Mallya’s plans over SpiceJet, lets wait and see what happens.
